Columbus day weekend has been the premier fall baseball weekend on the docket of elite area players, professional scouts and college recruiters. With this in mind, the New York Nine are pleased to announce the Columbus Classic which will take place at American Legion in Brooklyn. With the four field facility hosting simultanious games, scouts and coaches will have to only turn ninety degrees in any direction to see eighteen different players in action at any given time. Pitching rotations will be posted online prior to the Classic, as we are truly designing this as a scout/coach friendly showcase event.Taking place just prior to the opening of the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early sign period, this is a near-final opportunity for coaches to take a final look at players who they may consider offering scholarship assistance to during the early period. This tournament is going to be limited to reputable area 18u teams, and not all applications will be approved. American Legion also offers a full concession stand which will be operated by Youth Service, with all procedes benefitting the youth of their program, therefore no outside coolers are permitted in the ballpark. There are no entrance fees, or fees for scout handbooks... just quality amateur baseball on display for scouts and coaches. Approved teams will be expected to submit a full roster with all relevant player information one week prior to the Classic, and pitching matchups 72 hours in advance of the event's first games
